Wish I knew about this place years ago. So peaceful and a great fishing dock.
Came to camp and is a great park! Tons of walking trails and the best views. the resort and restaurant looked really nice but recently closed. Would love to come back
We were so sad to hear that the property was bought by the LCRA and the resort and restaurant were closed. There was (from what we saw) only one person working the entire location. The grounds are still decently kempt but the bathroom are in disrepair and the "beach" area where the store used to be is destroyed due to debris removal. I really hope they bring back the resort and restaurant and a staff..
I agree with the other reviewer. This place does feel abandoned except that there is construction work all day. Nothing on the website or anything indicates that they are in a remodeling phase and no one is actually working at the site. We did see one person working but all he told us was that the lodge and everything was closed from a flood. PUT THAT ON THE WEBSITE. DO NOT GO HERE unless you want to ROUGH IT. The place feels abandoned. There are no signs and nothing indicating anything that park facilities other than basic camping are shuttered and unuseable. NONE of this information was on the website. GOOD: The observatory show! The rest: We arrived at 5:30 pm on Friday and didn’t see a single staff while we were there camping for 2 nights.
