We had beautiful tent camping at Canyon campground. We got a few free showers with our stay. There's a large laundry facility and the people there are helpful in answering questions and giving information. There's also a dishwashing station. Must reserve ahead of time.
The Canyon Lodge and Cabins is centrally located, which allowed us to easily visit: 1. Old Faithful including the Upper, Midway, and Lower Geyser Basins. We hiked the spectacular Grand Prismatic Overlook Trail and the Fairy Falls Trail... both well worth the considerable effort. 2. Mammoth Hot Springs, including the upper and lower terraces 3. The location is excellent and it's quiet - in the middle of the park. But the price (508 USD for a double queen beds room, without breakfast) is too high, so the value for money is low. Breakfast options are limited - the food in the eatery is poor, and the sandwiches in the internal coffee place are vey small (it's open till 20:00). This location is way better than old faithful area. It’s more hidden and surrounded by natures, not as overdeveloped as old faithful so u could have a lot of animal encounters, also the price is more budget friendly
