My large group of friends and I take a trip every year to Cashiers and our one constant tradition is a dinner at Canyon Kitchen. We have done this for many years and have always loved everything about it. Sadly, things have changed. Our server was unfriendly and acted like she was annoyed at our table. Stunning views! Flavorless food. I’d just get some apps or a salad next time. Would go back for the aesthetic alone. Service was underwhelming - first impression: we get there, small venue - entire party was there and the hostess said - come back here at your reservation time. A true fine dining experience- the hostess would come get you. Considering no one was in the restaurant. Server was fairly sarcastic and cut us off. Staff assisting - wonderful! LOVED our server, Elena. She was fantastic. Food was definitely sub par, too small servings and everything way too salty. It took about an hour for our entrees to come out which felt like a really long time. The view was gorgeous and service was top notch but wouldn’t come again due to the food. For the high prices, it definitely wasn’t worth the cost.
This is a lovely setting and we found service to be fine, contrary to some reviews - sadly the food was mediocre and vastly overpriced We both had the halibut and mine was a little mushy - supposed to have a horseradish crust but was just panko - bland - need mashed potatoes underneath The starters: I decided to order the rainbow carrots - supposed to be grilled but came out raw and crunchy - sent them back and 2nd time around they were good Deviled eggs were good but do not even remotely justify the cost
