Excellent cabin and great scenery. Only negative was the elk who showed up at 5:30 A.M. and grazed around the yard for nearly an hour despite some very verbal protests from our dog. When on vacation we don't usually get up and start the coffee until 8 or 9:00 in the mornings so this was somewhat inconvenient. Forest service should train their animals to be more courteous and understanding of visitors sleep schedules.🤣🤣🤣
Updated review for our stay May 18, 2022: We are taking off a star for this visit as the rear window has been broken out. In the journals it seems it has been like this for over 6 weeks. Hopefully it will be fixed soon. Also, there was hardly any firewood so thankfully we had brought some and left enough for a few more guests. It's a rough drive for a car up to Vipond Park but it's really worth it! You also can see the road to the cabin and look down at the charcoal kilns from up there. Got to see some moose up there too.
