I stayed there last month and a few months pryer to that... Canterbury has truly undergone a MAKEOVER... the room I stayed in was VERY NICE... with none of the complaints that I have read on here existing... I will admit... the personnel could be more friendly... but I believe there is a language gap causing the conflict ion going on... not for sure how good their English is... but I only seen him when I checked in... so it didn't bother me... we enjoyed our stay here in Sept, '09 - reasonably quiet, walked to the ice cream (& more) shop next door... not right in the city... nice breakfast bar with hot waffles.
