The James W. Cannan Cannan Funeral Home, Inc was founded by Jim "Boom" Cannan in 1947. After serving in World War II as an Air Force pilot, Jim and his wife Norma opened the funeral home at 2397 Seneca Street. Their goal was to provide a comfortable and affordable funeral home to serve the families of South Buffalo and the First Ward. In 1981 their son Patrick Cannan entered the business and today he and his wife Pat are the owners.
