DO NOT GO THERE..For the second time in 2 years, they have given us back a maltese that was not ours. They hardly offered an apology, saying how they had 2 maltese to groom the same morning and how confusing it was... They can't keep track of the dogs over there...Had I read the review below earlier on I would never have gone back!
Scillag is dead !! – 'Scillag' was our jet black toy poodle,he was born on December 10,2005.He was only 4 years and four month old when I took him on Saturday 01 May 2010 to Canine Styles on Lexington avenue and 81st street. for his monthly grooming. I have never seen a dog store so clean and well done. And super nice. Kudos.
Perfect – My boarder terriers get hand-stripped here and I wouldn’t trust anyone else. It’s a dying art form and done perfectly here.
Shocked – I was shocked to see the woman at the West Side location get down on the floor and remove some twig from my dog’s paw while she was playing with my beagle and then then tell me my dog’s nails weren’t ready for a nail trim, which I would have happily paid for.
My only complaint is that I have to fly my toy poodle Fidget up from Palm Beach on Jet Blue every few weeks to get groomed—wouldn’t let anyone else touch her. Ella is the best.
Anyone who has spent any time in dog grooming stores in this town knows Canine Styles is the place to be.
I have been coming with my dogs to Canine Styles for almost 20 years and there is simply no other place I would bring them. Everyone brings their dogs to Canine Styles. Are they perfect? No. Are they as close to perfect as you are going to get dealing with live animals and their difficult & demanding owners: yes. And the merchandise selection can not be beat. They are a New York institution.
I was doubtful after Karen left but they have taken that place to a new level and the groomers are the same. And try to find those cashmere sweaters and carriers anywhere else.
