I received a Masters at Candler in 1978 and immediately went to work for a church. Along that time , I began teaching Comparative Religions/Scripture at a James Madison University in Virginia. I learned an incredible amount and, after assistantships and fellowships, actually made money upon graduation - which is how we bought our first house. For my money, the best School of Theology in the USA.
