HORRIBLE insurance company. My Case manager for LTD decided it was ok to just deny the extension of my LTD conveniently just before her vacation started. I found their tone rude and unsympathetic towards what I was going through at the time.
They are very imaginative at finding explanations to avoid covering prescription costs, and even then decisions can be very slow. I would hesitate to sign up with this company by choice (company policy).
Account reps give incorrect and different information each time. So when submitting claims frequently they are not fully covered. Reaching customer support is difficult and reps do not want to help or are not knowledgeable. Reasonable maximums are not posted requiring calling in frequently. When promised a call back none is received and information on previously phone calls regarding claims are not recorded so have to repeat yourself. Would not recommend to use them for insurance.
Watching my wife deal with Canada Life has been infuriating. This is supposed to be support when someone is medically unable to work—yet the reality has been payment delays of up to six weeks, plus regular missed and late payments. Canada Life also fails to follow its own payment schedule, so there’s no consistency and no ability to plan for rent, groceries, or bills.
