I was downtown yesterday and decided to donate blood. It’s best not to go without an appointment; they didn’t want to put me in the queue, but I insisted and they let me in. It turned out there were two separate lines: one for people with appointments and one for those without. I would have waited longer, but my paid parking was about to expire. Unfortunately, the blood service doesn’t provide free parking near the building.
A little tough to find the first time, but they give you snacks and move you along quickly.
Went as a first time donor. Was really excited about it. Did all the proper preparations by staying hydrated, etc. Unfortunately after that experience i’ll never be going again. The staff was wonderful except for the lady who attempted to draw my blood. I’ve never written a review before but that experience was just so bad. I cried in the bathroom after. Don’t think staff is supposed to call your body weird or blame you if drawing blood was unsuccessful.
