Don’t ever take your pet to emergency at this place. They have only one vet in the emergency and you will be there for at least 6h.
If you enjoy waiting over four hours (if you are lucky), this place is for you. There is non emergency but only in their name. My cat was coughing and sneezing blood, and a vet has not seem her yet. The worst part is that there are almost no people and still wait an eternity. I got here at 10 pm and it is almost 2 am. I cannot believe the slow procedure in this "emergency" hospital.
Canada West’s staff go above and beyond. They truly care for their patients and it’s obvious. I would absolutely recommend this vet to a friend for an emergency or every day care.
A couple of weeks ago I had to take my pet into Canada West and he ended up needing to be euthanized. It is important to note that the vet staff did a great job with my pet and my issue wasn't about that (that is why they got 3 stars). I wanted my pet's remains but the only option was to pay $900 for a package that included ashes but also several other add-ons to jack up the price. I was told I couldn't just do the ashes and my only other options would be to get nothing or leave my pet in pain for 7 hours until other clinics... read more
I want to start by saying that I am incredibly grateful for the care my kitty received from the veterinarians at Canada West Veterinary Hospital. She was hospitalized for several days with a blockage that, thankfully, she was able to pass without surgery. The doctors were wonderful—they kept us informed throughout her stay, answered our questions, and took excellent care of her. I genuinely have no complaints about the medical care she received.
