I was incredibly impressed by the experiences our students had across both Year 8 and Year 9 camps this year with Kokoda Outdoor Center. The Year 8 camp delivered an exceptional outdoor education experience. Students were fully immersed in a wide variety of hands-on activities including high ropes, flying fox, abseiling, initiative games, and bush skills. Each session was led with professionalism, care, and energy, creating an environment that promoted confidence, teamwork, and resilience. The Year 9 expedition-style camp pr... read more

This was my second experience as a teacher on this camp and again it didn’t disappoint. Their staff looked after us and the students very well. The encouragement was always there for kids who had limited experience with heights and general abilities to cook and clean, etc. they also take the time to discuss the importance of the Kokoda story which motivates kids to have a go.

Our first year experiencing Kokoda with the Yr.9 cohort, and we will definitely be back. An amazing 5 days of outdoor challenges, team building, appreciation and growth - away from distractions and technology. A magical, bush setting for students to gain insight into self and others. Delicious, clean, healthy meals - students gained endless skills in bush cooking and utilising fire. Plenty of camp games, laughs, group challenges, fun, adventure and creativity. Professional, knowledgeable group leaders - guiding and seeking e... read more

This camp really tested our survival skills, teaching us how to put up a tent, cook our own food, etc. Camp Kokoda was a way to not only test our survival skills, but to learn about the young men who had to travel 100's of kilometers to fight for this country in WWII. The staff were really nice, and helped us if we needed it. Some of the fun things about this camp were the memories, camps in general generate good memories, but Camp Kokoda was different, being outdoors was really relaxing. Overall a really good exeprience.
