Wednesday January 8th 2025 my husband was admitted to the UNM hospital via ambulance.it was a very scary situation. He was in the ER for 18 hrs. Finally sent up to a room and an employee Renee helped to ease the stress. She was very professional and proficient in getting him situated and in helping me to understand all that was going on. Renee is a huge asset to UNM. I want to thank her for her concern and help.

CT with contrast -- the tech was great. Absolutely no bruise from the IV. Scheduling was superb. Check in - easy. After the test is where it gets totally dysfunctional. They did not send the images to the ordering physician or put them in MyChart. I had to go through medical records and their "film library" whereupon I was told that the prescribing physician would need to request the images in writing. Isn't that what an order for a CT is??? UNM hospital was our final chance at seeing if an ENT would see us. My son of 24 has been sick for 3 months with acute tonsillitis...on meds , on treatments but these need to come out and NO ONE will see him or even expedite a referral.....We went to all the hospitals in Santa Fe and found that there are NO providers of ENT specialists...what are we supposed to do??? hes lost work for near 3 months (no one cared), he can hardly eat, ("sorry") and no one had a suggestion but "rinse with warm salt water"...that does not help n... read more

This man is amazing! My husband had pancreatic cancer. He was always calm, empathetic, and extremely patient oriented. He is able to listen attentively to angry, grumpy old men and do it with such style and class. Best gastroenterologist in NM bar none!

I have been trying to get a first appointment at UNM Westside Clinic since 2019. When I was put on the wait list initially, and was notified they had an opening, I returned their call and they could not find me on their list. I tried other medical possibilities at that time, mostly urgent care. Recently, in July, I tried again. Supposedly I was put on a wait list again. This place was so gross. The bathroom was filthy with the toilet covered in puke and feces. The soap dispenser was either broken or out just like the paper towels. I was there for 10 hours and the only chair that was sanitized was when a former employee walked in with her mom who was promptly seen and helped in less than an hour and a half while people puking or with broken bones or crying in pain had to wait as long as me.
