My local neurologist referred me to see an epileptologist. They faxed the referral (multiple times), I picked up a copy of the referral and faxed it myself. My boss faxed it, my coworkers faxed it and called - getting multiple direct numbers to send it to. After TWO MONTHS of this, with every phone call getting the answer of "I don't see it, we don't have it.", I told the referring office to just forget this place, and had them fax my information to WVU. The DRs were nice and everything looked organized. I had some struggle finding the location. The employees were awesome in directing me to the Neurology office.
Horrible wait times, I waited over an hour for the physician. Secondly, not only was her answer for every question I had, she also responded with “I don't know”. Her bedside manner was quite careless, and it didn't seem to truly matter to her about my symptoms because the symptoms that I had did not correlate with the “usual” symptoms. It was quite a waste of time, having a nurse practitioner consistently reply with “I don't know”, and not provide any real solutions or answers. My husband was discharged from the hospital (August) with instructions to follow up with a neurologist within 2 weeks for a possible MS diagnosis. Dr. Smith was the neurologist on his discharge instructions. When I called this office, the soonest available appointment was not for another 2 months (October) which is ridiculous. Once again CAMC fails to deliver and we will be seeking care elsewhere. EDIT: I ended up calling Marshall Neurology in Huntington to see if they had a sooner appointment and they saw him the same week.... read more
