This is a small family owned restaurant with great menu options. The food was very tasty. We ordered one dozen of large steamed blue crabs and crab dip. We had hoped for jumbo but they were sold out. However, the large crabs were fresh, meaty and steamed to perfection 👌! I had gotten crabs to go from here before. This time we dined in. The restaurant was clean and staff was friendly. The food is reasonably priced. We will definitely come back for another round of crabs soon.
If they didn’t close after I made my purchase, I would have returned the #2 male crabs. They were light and smelled like AMMONIA!!!!! If you are a crab eater you know what a bad crab smell like! So disappointing l! I would never recommend nor EVER SPEND MY MONEY AT CALVERT CRABS EVER AGAIN! I know better I usually cook my crabs but I had a craving for some and settled! Never again!
Calvert Crabs did a crab feast for our company and the crabs did not disappoint! They were truly amazing crabs - size, weight, taste, all of it. They also did some other catering for the event - hamburgers, hot dogs, and sides. It was all yummy and they did a great job setting up, serving, and providing quality food. They worked with us to help plan the menu and were more than fair with quantities and pricing of the food. We will definitely use them when the need arises in the future.
Now I have only been to calvert crab twice, last saturday and then this Saturday. My experience last Saturday was awesome, wonderful host older lady tall with white short hair (loved her) she was amazing and she made sure our food was A1. I told her I would be returning next Saturday. Now my experience yesterday day when I came in was AWFUL.
