The Opthamology clinic is woefully slow and disgustingly inefficient. I initially attended the clinic as a SCUH inpatient and I was shocked to learn that after speaking with the people in the waiting room, they told me they had been waiting 3-4 hours to even see a clinician. Needless to say, it was a very long, very frustrating day. A couple of weeks later, I returned to the clinic on orders from my neurologist and had an appointment scheduled for 9am (which I had to take time off work to attend and driven 45 mins to make). ... read more

Have only had amazing experiences here with my children’s and myself. Super friendly staff, quick wait times and genuine care. Feel very lucky we have this facility available and it has really come in handy especially over a weekend to put an anxious mother at ease!!
I was in and out in under 40 minutes. The women at triage and reception were both excellent, and my doctor was very friendly and helpful. I had a fairly simple ailment and he explained exactly what it was, why it happened, and had me on my way. Not sure what it's like during busier times, but have nothing but positive feedback from my experience on a quiet monday night.
Having lived in Caloundra for 40 years we have had to use this service occasionally. Visiting today and all the staff were amazing. Attentive, happy and friendly. Once it felt like such a bother to try and get medical care from the emergency clinic, with long waits, rudeness etc. That is not the case now..everyone I interacted (4 people on staff) were welcoming, connected and happy to help, over and above.
