This agency is terrific. I know that the agent was cleaned out by an accountant who embezzled from her, and it did cause her to have problems with payment. But she has been open and honest and her team reached out to everyone with apologies and I believe she will make it right. Yes, there are workshops. She needs to see if you have what it takes if she is going to submit you for a job. RUN! Run far away from Calliope! They. Charge. For. EVERYTHING... head shots, auditions, classes, website fees (which you aren't even actually put on). Initially, they start you out with 2 commercials right off the bat. Then it's nothing but auditions. COSTLY auditions. They send you on "auditions" and each one costs $40 to tape. Here's the kicker, sometimes the part you're auditioning for DOESN'T EVEN EXIST! Do not consider this agency. They have had issues paying talent for many years! I am not an isolated anomaly! Please, please find any other agency out there! I signed with them and they will try to force you to go to their own in house workshops and of course charge you for it, they also charge $150 to be on their website. I thought I had signed with a great agency and never researched them because they were referred by my Louisiana agency. Huge mistake! Worst talent agency I have EVER had to encounter! Run as fast as you can in the other direction because Calliope has problems paying their talent. I know because they still owe me quite a bit of money but after dealing with them for 3 months with an attorney I gave up after just recouping some of what they owe me.
