This actually happened a couple years ago, but she took a retainer and we agreed on what would happen. Things went good at first but then the closer it got to when she needed to file the motion, she kept saying she was working on something but I wouldn't hear back from her. I had to check on the progress, and this was over the course of many weeks. She kept all the money and never filed the motion.
