While I enjoyed the breakfast I had (I ordered the yogourt parfait, which is arguably nothing that needs to be cooked by the kitchen anyway), as well as my cocktail for one night’s dinner, that’s unfortunately the limit of enjoying the food our party had here. Our experience at Callaghan’s Restaurant & Bar was disappointing. The food was pretty average. I understand that things happen and that managing food preparation in a restaurant can be challenging, but what stood out was the lack of response when there was an issue. The staff initially seemed very nice and friendly. When our server came to ask if everything was okay, I mentioned that the avocado on my meal was not good—it was very green and clearly not ripe. I ordered seafood chowder and was instead served what can only be described as potato soup with a seafood identity crisis. The bowl was overflowing with potatoes, littered with lobster shells, and the single microscopic piece of salmon somehow managed to contain enough bones to become a choking hazard. Nothing says "fresh seafood" quite like having to excavate your meal while dodging shells and fish bones. If potatoes were the main attraction, they absolutely nailed it. I hummed and hawed for quite a while as to whether or not I should leave a review as it is not something I typically do. We visited the summer of 2023 and let me just say that we had an amazing experience. Great drinks, food and great service. We had the chance to chat with the restaurant supervisor/manager and she was a lovely young girl who cared about her job, the staff and the guests. She truly topped off our already great experience. Dragging the hotel down. Over priced and not good. Service was solid but the food was terrible. This place could have been good and it chose to suck. Had chicken supreme - nothing supreme about that, didn't even get the chicken breast. Pizza was undercooked with an awful sauce and nachos that were just awful. Like how do you screw up nachos? $32 with chicken option and I should have got a bag of tostitos, block of chesse, and some jarred salsa and cooked the patridge I a ran over for topping...
