We signed up for the Core Survival Skills Adventure, and everything went smoothly for us. The program was well-structured; it hit all the foundational and important parts of outdoor survival — physically, emotionally, and mentally. Great experience and a fun day out for people who like to go walkabout and also be prepared. My wife and I joined the Basic Survival Skills class with about 20 others. Dan was extremely knowledgeable and did a good job of condensing years worth of experience down to just a few hours. We learned a ton and if things do happen to go south the next time we're out on a hike, we'll be ready!
My partner purchased a course for both of us for my birthday as it’s been a life long goal for me to take one of these classes. We travel full time in an RV and they said there would be accommodations for our 32ft motorhome and jeep we tow. Needless to say, there was no room at the entrance for the motorhome, and even if there were, we wouldn’t have felt comfortable leaving it by the road like that. Our whole lives are in there. Me and my wife took the 1 day Core Survival course AND the 2 day Wilderness First Aid. We both learned a lot and honestly feel like we should have been taught the first aid course when we were much younger. After doing the Core Survival course we decided that the Wilderness First Aid would be a great follow up. Daniel is a great instructor. I don't think there is a situation he HASN'T come across in the wild. With so many stories to use as examples for what he is teaching, it makes for a fun and easy to learn experience.
