The Prospector Pete statue wasn't racist and removing it is pure ridiculousness.
As a 1969 graduate of Cal State Long Beach, I believe the pompous excuse of using historical revisionist “diversity” as a reason to remove Prospector Pete is ludicrous. I guess CSULB’s substandard history department taught no one about the abusive Spanish hacienda owners who stole land from the indigenous people, or the corrupt Mexican government that drove them into perpetual poverty.
