We talked to a few pool contractors before starting our backyard project, and chose to work with California Pools for two main reasons - 1. we really liked the in-office design and consultation, as well as meeting some of the team face to face, and 2. they said that, unless we choose to change something, the quote is the quote - no surprises. I was referred to California Pools (San Clemente) by a neighbor who had the company build their pool. I find word of mouth referrals from trusted personal sources to be the most reliable and this certainly proved to be the case with California Pools, with whom we contracted to handle our build. I have never taken the time to give a company review but in California Pools case they have done such a poor job I feel compelled. We contacted with them over a year ago for a custom built, very expensive, spa. Not only did they not meet their schedule, the spa color was incorrect, it has had several links and they have done a poor job resolving issues. A year later we still at waiting for the job to be complete and to be able to use the spa for more then few days without new problems. If you do use them be sure to hold 50% ... read more
