A lot of volunteers and members and students dont even truly know the full scope of what it is theyre contributing to when they volunteer. Theres been a lot of changes this past year at CHA for very Good Reasons. I was a member for years and am not alone in speaking out about what I saw, heard and experienced.

I came here thinking I’d be part of a grassroots volunteer group helping the community. The people seemed passionate, and the mission sounded powerful. But once I started spending more time here, things didn’t add up. There’s no real transparency about who’s running things or where the money goes. You're encouraged to cut off outside relationships “for the work.” People sleep in the office. They rarely see their families. It’s not normal volunteerism—it’s something else.
