CEA has been downgraded by AM Best to B++ or a "Good" rating. I would not insure with a company less than an A- rating, or "Excellent" as this is a good indicator of their ability to pay future claims. CEA is not a member of the California Insurance Guarantee Association(as are many private insurers) which would help cover claims should an insurer become insolvent. Also, CEA limits coverage choices more than many private insurers.
I talked to three different ladies at CEA. They were very helpful and pleasant to talk to. I definitely have no complaints.
Policies have been illegitimately neutered so as to have deductibles so high the policy is almost irredeemable and thus coverage is mostly worthless.
Very professional and knowledgeable.
I didn't complete what I wanted to get done. According to their website, you have to sign-up for a policy through a private insurance company rather than buy one directly on-line from the authority itself.
