About this business

Calico is an old West mining town that has been around since 1881. With its 500 mines, Calico produced over $20 million in silver ore over a 12-year span. Calico lost its population when silver values fell. It's now part of the county parks system.

I just had my first experience at Calico with my girlfriend and her brother, it was such an amazing time! I grew up watching westerns with my dad so I enjoyed every second. My favorite part was getting our old fashion photos done, which we have done a few times before in different places. The reason it was my favorite is because she was not only professional, she was nice and kind and really listened how we wanted the picture done! I wish I could remember her name! Thank you Calico! We hope to return!

After reading some comments humanity is doomed. Here are my feelings. Yes it is a tourist trap but the costs are very reasonable. It is Park so they need to make money to stay open. A bottle of water $1.50. Seriously? not sure where you can get it cheaper besides a grocery store. Very reasonable to me since you are in the desert. We made it in and out with a great lunch for under $40 and saw all of the paid items. Everyone was friendly and the historical aspect was worth the visit and cost. I recommend going to anyone that l... read more

We had great time! Our trip was quite short since it was very hot and we had our dogs with us. Nonetheless we had a great time. Everyone was so welcoming to our dogs, they got to go into the shops too! We took our first family portrait at the photo studio. Alyssa was so awesome! She was friendly and very patient. Anyone with dogs knows it can be a pain to get them to cooperate, but she was fantastic! We got a couple great pictures to hang on our wall. It's fun to see what things were like in the olden days 😊. Next time we w... read more
