It's great at Calico. Quiet place other then the laughter of the people around having fun. The staff does not hassle you unlike other campgrounds that have BS rules. This park is laid back and loaded with lots of fun within walking distance to the town. Another successful fun trip to Calico as a group.
RecommendedGreat Jeep trails. Some canyons have more challenging obstacles than the Rubicon Trail. Be sure your Jeep is capable. Inexpesnive to camp. About $40 a night. Full hook ups. Free admission to calico ghost town with camping fee. Great food at the restaurant with reasonable prices. Serve beer and wine at town. Fun attraction for kids in town like a mystery shack, Maggie’s mine, and the Odessa railroad. All $2-5 for each attraction.
Living so close and not knowing calico ghost town it is so close and very reasonable price , I really enjoy the day we went and I’ll be heading there again .

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Calico. Neither he nor I had been since we both were kids. We both wish there were more attractions centered around the history of Calico. I felt a bit short changed having to Wikipedia all the details behind the town. I enjoyed the train tour, but sitting by a screaming toddler, it was hard to hear all the info that was being piped through the speakers. We had so much fun! People were pleasant and there were a bunch of shops. Train ride was very informative but short. I loved my experience!
