This is Mr. Calhoun. His son Darnell Calhoun was a Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputy and was gunned down in the line of duty 2 years ago. Calhouns Familly Texas Barbecue is the family business in Murrieta CA. To my friends in SoCal, go eat. The badge number 6094 you see on the wall belonged to Darnell. And Mr. Calhoun is one of the finest humans you could miss the opportunity to meet.
My family and I always come here to Calhoun's family barbecue and it's always so good!! We order the sampler platter with brisket, Pulled pork, baby back ribs, or spare ribs and chicken. The only thing is, is that the restaurant is small inside so get there early if you want a table. The service is good too. It's definitely worth it!
This is really good BBQ. The Brisket sandwiches were excellent. The rolls were fresh and tasty. The Brisket was great. The sauce is good. The cole slaw was very good. The potato salad was good. I drove 51 miles to try them, and I will return. This was worth the drive.
