Nelson is absolutely fantastic with special needs. My brother is a 55 year old severely autistic adult. Because he is non-verbal many professionals speak only to me. He treated him as a person speaking directly him. My brother gave him a hug…no problem! Nelson simply hugged him back. Told him what he was doing at each step since he is blind. Nelson is truly wonderful at what he does. His professionalism, dedication, and attention to detail really stand out in the quality of his work. He takes the time to understand what is needed and always goes the extra mile to ensure everything is done properly and to a high standard. What impressed me the most is his positive attitude and willingness to help, which makes working with him a great experience. I would highly recommend Nelson to anyone looking for someone reliable, skilled, and passionate about what they do.

I had an amazing experience getting my new eye made by Dr Shirley. I have had one eye for 35 years and this was my first time getting a prosthetic the whole process was fast and easy dr Shirley was a pleasure to deal with and everyone else at the office were very kind and made me feel welcome. I finally have 2 eyes after 35 years and I couldn’t be happier thank you Calgary Occular Prosthetics!

I’ve been going to Shirley and Nelson for almost 15 years. I really appreciate their kindness, compassion and expertise. They have helped me become confident as they have taught me how to live with and care for my prosthetic eye over the years. I don’t know what I’d do without them! If there ever is a problem with my eye I know that I can always go for a follow up appointment (and regular polishes!) to ensure I have the best eye fit and comfort!
