We had cataracts surgery for my dog travelling from Edmonton in June 2024. Fast forward to March 2026 looking for more drops for my dog the clinic was not able to help me with this request as they wanted us to travel 3 hours each way to see my diabetes dog for 15 minutes and then probably be charged with vet $200 is just an inconvenience. I asked to make a video call but wasn't able to. We had spent over $8k on surgery and it doesn't seem like they don't care about post care. Very disappointing.
We visited Calgary Animal Eye Care recently, making the trip down from Edmonton. It was absolutely worth the drive. Nothing against our vets here at home, but we kept getting mixed messaging about what was going on with our “puppy’s” eyes (not so much a puppy at 17). Glaucoma. Cataracts. Maybe this. Maybe that. Uncertainty about procedures, whether anything corrective was even possible, or if we were just looking at management.
