I went to Rebecca Calabrese for counseling while i was going through a painful divorce. My husband had left me. I had 2 sessions and then she discharged me from her practice because I was arguing with her that i didn't have a problem with addiction. She insisted that i go to a rehab treatment center when all I was doing was using a prescription sleep aid. I never drink or do anything heavier. I didn't over do my medicine. She doesn't care about her patients. Charging $150 for cancelling an appointment. Her reasoning "It teaches responsibility." Any therapist which charges you a large fee for a missed appointment simply doesn't have your best interests at heart. Also good luck getting ahold of her. Her secretary will be the only one to speak to you over the phone unless you owe her money for a service not rendered.
Not happy. Sessions got shorter and shorter. Down to 30 minutes. $150 cancel appointment fees. Told me to do things and bring in things and then never inquired or had time to listen about them. She seemed like a "robot" in her responses and gestures. Not genuine or caring, just following a script. Very rude voicemail when missed appointment. Awful experience.
