This was not my first time at CakeWalk so, when I was thinking about where to buy a custom cake for my 20th birthday (which was yesterday), I knew I wanted to go to CakeWalk! I'll describe the process of ordering buying, and eating this cake, starting with the good stuff and ending with some complaints. The cannolis were okay. The éclair was disappointing and tasted as though it had been sitting in the fridge for quite some time. What was even more frustrating was finding out afterward that it was student discount day. The staff did not mention the 20% discount while I was paying, which felt like a missed opportunity for customer service. Overall, not an experience that would make me want to return.
I always like to search Google for bakeries when I'm visiting new areas of town. I was in Northfield for the first time and found out to be such a lovely town with charm. This bakery only adds to that. Everything I bought here was decadent and very rich but very delicious.
Cake walk has a great space and atmosphere for enjoying the cupcakes or any other sweet. I ordered one cupcake. I went there around Halloween, so there were a lot of Halloween style cupcakes. I don't like that kind. So I ended up just getting one regular cupcake. It was delicious but I was not impressed. However, I would recommend this store when visiting the town.
This place has fantastic treats! We have stopped here several times while visiting Northfield and are never disappointed in what we've gotten. It's a cute shop, right on Main Street. There is seating inside for dine in, if you choose. They have cakes/cupcakes/brownies/cookies/coffees/etc...something for everyone. I adore the Salted Caramel cupcake but, often try other varieties.
