This French-market coffee stand, established in 1862, offers a menu of dark coffee with chicory, beignets, white or chocolate milk and freshly-squeezed orange juice. Cafe Du Monde is one of the most popular and the oldest of its kind in New Orleans. You may have to wait for a table in the busy morning hours owing to its famous breakfast menu. While the coffee is certainly good, most people come for the famous, fresh-from-the-fryer beignets. They are brought to your table in such a hurry that they are still hot when you take ... read more

Cafe Du Monde – I have to say that the Begnets and the CDM coffee were the best! Do not miss them when you are in the Big Easy! RJ
This place is a must. It is loud, brash, crowded and the floors are covered with powdered sugar. That IS Cafe du Monde. Ignore the naysayers. They are the same people who complain about long lines at Disneyland on Labor Day. The coffee and donuts are simply a true NOLA experience. You can either make this a wonderful part of trip to the Big Easy or you can get yourself worked into a frenzy because you weren't given coffee and donuts by tuxedo-clad waiters and served off of bone china. Just go. Go and enjoy. Go many times. Yo... read more
ne,orlans – exceptional. service is outstanding, caffine is the best, table not clean, seat and hope
its new orleans – good food, good service, parking is poor but the problems are worth it.
yummy – I thought that the coffee was a little bitter. I prefer Starbucks, but other than that I would recommend highly.
NOT A RESTAURANT – DOUGNUTS AND COFFEE GREAT...MUST TRY WHEN VISITING NEW ORLEANS....BUT IT'S NOT THE BEST OUTDOOR RESTAURANT BECAUSE IT DOES NOT SERVE FOOD.
Cafe Mon Dieu – Crowded, noisy, touristy. Everything some folks could ask for. I found it a bit too hectic but the begnets(sp?) and coffees were indisputably good. Great fare if you're nerves and caloric budget can take it.
gotta love it – Im From new orleans and i think that this cafe should get all it's props and what!!
Morning Call is Best – Although Morning Call moved outside the French Quarter and may not technically be regarded as a "New Orleans" breakfast site, technically, Cafe Du Monde is not a breakfast site, either, unless all you want is coffee and beignets. As a "breakfast site," try the Hummingbird Grill -- grungy, but great breakfasts.
