This French-market coffee stand, established in 1862, offers a menu of dark coffee with chicory, beignets, white or chocolate milk and freshly-squeezed orange juice. Cafe Du Monde is one of the most popular and the oldest of its kind in New Orleans. You may have to wait for a table in the busy morning hours owing to its famous breakfast menu. While the coffee is certainly good, most people come for the famous, fresh-from-the-fryer beignets. They are brought to your table in such a hurry that they are still hot when you take ... read more

The best cafe au lair, with a view to kill
stop in between 10pm and 6am, I'm working the night shift, Geaux Saints!
Order yourself a bunch of beignets and coffee after partying all night in the city. It will sober you up.
A must do while visiting new Orleans just like I told the roloffs from TLC Little people big world during our carriage tour on the southern comfort episode
Nice and simple. 1 order of beignets and a hot chocolate.
You simply can't be in New Orleans (living or visiting) and not have some beignets and Chicory Coffee once in a while.
Yummy beignets; NASTY atmosphere – Second time in New Orleans and wanted to get the beignets again. Perhaps I was drunk the first time. This time, being totally sober I realized what a gross place this is. The beignets are good but the whole place seemed really unsanitary...I'm sure the glasses and mugs are not washed adequately. Don't wear black clothes. Order the frozen cafe du monde as your drink. Sweet and delicious
Cafe Du Monde is in perhaps the best part of New Orleans. A few blocks away from the party strip of Bourbon Street which tends to get smelly and crowded, Cafe Du Monde is a great open air cafe with some of the best beignets you can ask for. The coffee is pretty good as well. Overall, a great experience for a reasonable price. Tables are a bit messy so know before you go that this is no 5 star cafe. Also, due to its popularity, Cafe Du Monde is a little crowded and table space is hard to get sometimes.
Cafe Du Monde has a 4.5 star rating with 4,029 reviews.
Cafe Du Monde is open now. It will close tomorrow at 12:00 a.m.
