Food so good we had them cater our wedding! My wife and I lived in NYC for many years and ate at many great restaurants, Cafe Alma would do very well in NYC. Their food is great and the staff is very friendly. We liked the food so much when we got married at The Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg we had them cater it and they did an amazing job! Lunch or Dinner it's a Winner Sounds to me like the person that wrote the bad review for lunch only tried Cafe Alma once and happened to have a bad experience. I dine there for lunch at least 3 times a week. I bring clients with me most of the time. I do this because I have always had prompt service and I feel secure that my guest will enjoy their experience. I think that one should not judge on one bad experience. Don't take my word for it, try this place for yourself!
Outstanding Outstanding and consistent! I've been eating at Cafe Alma for two years now and have never been disappointed. It's obvious that the food is prepared fresh and with care and attention to detail. The wine list is smart and varied. The service is sharp and professional. Lunch, dinner and brunch are all fantastic. I especially love that it's not another run of the mill chain restaurant.
Bad food, awful service – I went to Cafe Alma the other day for lunch upon a friend's suggestion. I had heard rave reviews & took a friend with me. It was a week day, 1:00. We got there & were told there'd be a 30 minute wait, but there was hardly any one inside or out of the restaraunt. We were told the problem was a shortage in staff. We turned to leave but the hostess recommended sitting at the bar & we'd get full service, the bar was also empty. We sat & it took 15 minutes to an iced tea. don't waste your time – We went there for my bday and were highly disappointed. Price and food quality don't match. I don't mind paying but when it's worth it. In our case it was a disaster. I had sirloin steak from the winter menu - mashed potatoes were hard as a rock, both potatoes and zuccini were cold. The waiter offered to reheat it but there is no excuse why they were cold on the first place. Steak was a little warmer. Sunset Menu... here I come! – There aren't too many places anywhere that will allow you to get away with salad, dinner, dessert and a glass of sangria for $15. Yeah, thats how I came to find Cafe Alma and their sunset menu that offers a selection of entrees to choose from that include a salad (tossed or ceaser) an entree, dessert and a glass of sangria.
