I had a pretty lousy experience with this office. It may not be directly the fault of the Doctor, but needs to be told. I came to this doctor for a possible Thyroid issue which was handled as I expected. However, while I was there the Doctor took notice of my diabetes meds and felt that they were not right. She prescribed a new medication that is a weekly injectable. Little did I know that this medication is also used for weight loss and would be impossible to find. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in 1964 and have been through the gamut of different changes in treatment modalities and practitioners. Some good, others terrible. The introduction of the ACA was devastating to continuation of care with many providers. I began to see Dr. Soares-Welch in 2017. I cannot say enough about her as a doctor. She is very knowledgeable and caring. My husband has been seeing her for 14 years, myself for 9. She has been exceptional!!! I love how she tells you about ALL of your options. Cannot recommend her enough, be patient for an appointment if you have to. She is worth the wait!
Dr. Soares Welch treated my cousin for Hoshimotos. She never really listened to any of her concerns and was always very dismissive. Every time she had an issue, she just increased the dosage of her medication. She was never willing to try alternative treatments or different medication. When she asked the Doctor about the weight she'd gained, as a side effect of Hoshimotos, she said she was eating too much. She has to be the best EDO I have ever seen and I have been type 1 for over 34 years. Dr Soares-Welch is very caring takes her time and stays update on all the new things going on with. Diabetes
