If you like having to clean off all the bird poop from ALL the seats before you go out on the pontoon boat, this place is for you! We’ve been renting from Cachuma Boat Rentals for many years, and it’s been a tradition we’ve really enjoyed—until now. Unfortunately, this latest experience left us extremely disappointed. The same old pontoon boats they’ve had for years have doubled in price, and they’ve introduced newer boats that cost nearly three times as much. What’s frustrating is that even the older boats—which are showing their age and still poorly maintained—now come at a premium. Rented a poonton boat for 2 adults, 3 children. 3 times the front of the boat almost sank by water rushing in getting all of our shoes wet along with our stuff. We had no weight in the front to cause this. Poonton holds 8people max. Next time we will spend a little extra money and upgrade to the newer poontons they had available. The nextdoor family that stayed in the cabin next to us, we overheard them saying they had the same issue with there poonton taking on water also.
