I am reviewing the swimming beach. Was very disappointed today - a Tuesday well before Labor Day - after driving an hour and a half to enjoy the park, and found it closed. I called the park office when I got there, and they told me the beach and boating are now only open weekends because school is back open and they don't have staff. It would have been nice if they had updated their park hours on the website and google listing. It looked like a beautiful facility, I'm only sorry we didn't get to enjoy it this time.
We LOVE cacapon! My family and I go every summer! The cabins are well maintained and very clean. We love the variety of activities provided at the nature center like painting, stream studies, and learning about the animals/environment! The paths are very pretty and vary in difficulties. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Wether you’re staying in the lodge or a cabin, you have access to the pool, lake, and gym.
