I have lived here for 10 months now, and love the place. Like any campground, there are malcontents that will complain about little things like not being catered to. The reality is that this is a relatively remote place where you absolutely must be self-sufficient to a large degree. There has not been full-time management until recently, but the new management team are very attentive and reasonable. Since the ranch has been under new management many of the so-called bad influences have left. If you love natural beauty, priva... read more

I have been at CABALLO LOCO RANCH full time for 2 years. I love the home on the range CLR has created and made available to so many really wonderful people. The beauty that surrounds you here has an effect on you. This is my experience. The small community here is an example of a simple good life living. On the ranch there are full hook ups and boondocks. The ranch has several public areas for all residents to enjoy as well as restrooms and showers facilities in both lower and upper areas of the ranch. The 8 mile dirt road w... read more

Very remote, 8+ miles in on unpaved rough road 34 miles north of the Mexico border July 10th - August 20th 2022 14.5 inches of rain Desert comes alive Updated review May 2025 - 3+ years resident in a off grid location. *** Very remote, 8+ miles in on unpaved rough road when driving a passenger car with highway tires one should expect flat tires especially if attempting to travel at speeds above 15 mph. Possible to travel up to 40-45 mph but takes a toll on tires and suspension. Heavy Duty F-250 truck with good stiff suspens... read more

what a waste of time n money. toxic people, horrible roads, infrastructure is falling apart and not maintained. ***MIDDLE OF NOWHERE*** nothing is cleaned, rat droppings in the restroom, they lock you in the restroom, dog crap everywhere, every site has tarps and trash. more like a homeless camp in the desert than "RV Resort" garbage overflowing and not regularly dumped.

My husband and I love coming to Caballo Loco Ranch here in Tucson, Arizona. This is our second year. We are in full hook ups, and we do six months in and six months out. We are retired and we live full-time in our fifth wheel. We winter here from November 1 through to April 30. We are originally from Minnesota and we now make Arizona as our home. Your experience to this location starts with an 8 mile drive one way down a beautiful gravel, dusty and some bumps road.(we pull 32’ Fifth wheel) This beautiful road has an abundanc... read more
