The son is not a reader but I needed him to become a better reader. I saw the standardized testing writing on the wall if he wasn't pushed to improve. He wasn't going to budge on reading more but we needed short (non book) harder reading for him to exercise his verbal skills which led us to C2. He learned reading skills and test taking skills which helped him in his classes and his AP tests in high school, a benefit we didn't think much as we were approaching C2 as a long term climb towards a better verbal score.
