This was my first time visiting this YMCA gym ♀️ I heard it was closing, and I wanted to check it out with a couple of friends. This gym is somewhat built a little different. Looks like there is some old machines here. I like my gym better. The employee, Destin, was very welcoming and a great representative for the Y. It will be closing February 2025 🥹. The announcment of the closure of this branch has left me deeply saddened. I had plans to return to this branch in 2025 after many years of not returning. I started coming to this YMCA branch in 1996 for summer camp. The summer camp had so many campers that some had to be sent to Faith Prysteberian Church on Old Hammond Highway. The indoor pool was a blessing and its unfortunate the flood of 2016 did alot of damage to the YMCA. The after school care was a blessing and the swimming lessons and sports as well. It's nothing fancy, but it was a good facility for my daughter's beginner volleyball team.
It is definitely not as good as before 2016 flood. Most equipment looks very out-dated. Not a very good selection of equipment.
