I had heard so much about this shop. Tried the malted milk balls among other chocolates. They had an abundance of chocolate but very little malt. The employee was definitely unfriendly. I was very disappointed.

This is the best chocolate (and value) in the area. Sadly, they closed their store on State Street in Portsmouth but drive up the road to Kittery for the same friendly service and great selection!

First time to shop here. I was delighted with the selection of chocolates. I bought a beautifully wrapped box of assorted chocolates. It was the perfect hostess gift. Their milk chocolate turtles are delicious. The service was efficient and friendly and they had a basket of free home-grown tomatoes that I gladly sampled (along with a couple of chocolate samples of course). I will definitely be back (although I don't expect to get free tomatoes everytime from a chocolate shop)

Truly the best chocolatier on the east coast-- the quality is amazing (texture, flavor) and opening up a box is like looking into a little treasure chest, the way small shells and foil-wrapped fish are nestled between truffles and turtle clusters. These confections make great gifts, especially the chocolate bars with sugared violets, or the chocolate dipped fruits.
