Respect the soil. I come from "hill folk" southern Missouri. Respecting the soil means several things to me. The one that came to mind is the concept of feeding the soil and letting an area rest. My grandmother sent me out with eggshells and coffee grounds more than once to "feed the soil". Not pretty stuff but very necessary for the soil to produce. The other part is the letting it rest. I have been away from this page for some time and I apologize for that. I wear many hats these days, daughter, wife, mother, counselor, caregiver.
