Nice Place We have been to By the Docks a few times and have not been disappointed. If you are going on a week-end make sure you make reservations or you will be waiting up to 1 1/2 hours! The food is very good, although their prices are a little higher than some places in the area.
Good I have heard about this place from a few friends and that they have good crab-cakes. So heard over with a few gal pals for dinner this past Tuesday night. I couldn't believe it was a busy as it was for a Tuesday. I got the Single Crab Cake Platter- lump crab meat seasoned and you can get it broiled or rired. It was pretty good. Worth the wait The wait is horrible, but I guess they are busy for a reason. Surprisingly it was worth the wait. The crab cakes & steaks are delicious! The service was good too.
They'll keep you waiting FOREVER! I made a 2pm reservation for 5 and a highchair at By the Docks for Mother's Day. We got there at 2pm and they told me there would be a 15 minute wait because they were "backed up." Well, by 2:30 we were getting restless, especially since several parties of 12 or more had arrived and been seated since we got there. Pros: VERY clean! Good crabcake. Relaxing atmosphere. Cons: Everything else-- Slow waitress, bad food (other than the wonderful crabcake). I am originally from Baltimore, but my family moved away when I was in elementary school. They moved back in 2006 and I came to visit them this weekend. YOU MAY HAVE TO WAIT BUT THE CRAB CAKES ARE WORTH IT. THEY ARE RATHER LARGE WITH JUST ENOUGH FILLER TO HOLD THEM TOGETHER. THE SEASONING IS JUST RIGHT. THE SIDES WERE GOOD BUT THE CRAB CAKE OUT SHINES THEM ALL.
