We took our preteen granddaughters to see the butterflies. The volunteers were very friendly and knowledgeable. They had live caterpillars, Chrysalis and emerging butterflies. The butterfly enclosure was smaller than anticipated. However, it did have live plants and butterflies. They had outdoor walking paths. We took our three kids and were expecting more activities and things to do and see. The price point of $10 for adults and $5 for children seemed steep for a singlular room with butterflies. Unfortunately, not one butterfly was caught on the q-tips for the very busy tent by any of the patrons. If there was any other types of activities to draw us back, it might have been a different experience, but our children and the other kids were disappointed in the lack of butterfly activity. Interesting and informative place, but small. All the koi fish were small / tiny. The 'waterfall' was only water dripping down a stone wall. The 'tower' is just a second story room. The 'maze' was horribly over grown - couldn't see the maze from the tower. I wanted a map (they don't have any) but found it's small enough to wander around and find everything we wanted to see. The orientation was pretty much a waste of time because I lost any sense of direction on the circular ramp to/from the 'tower' (it was an overcast day). ... read more
