I wished I would have read these reviews before I spent thousands running their power to my property. The comments about predatory billing are spot on. They claim that I use a daily average of 66kwh, national average is 30kwh. National average on the high end is 45kwh. The high end of the spectrum includes high demand appliances and ev charging of which we have neither. One or 2 spikes here or there and you are penalized forever. Not a very honest system. Butler county has a laundry list of issues and they love their taxes.

absolutely terrible. Got stuck in a prepaid account when we first moved, now they are wanting double the monthly bill just to get out of prepay. Our new bank blocked a payment going through marking it as fraud now they are only allowing us to pay for electric through a credit card/card and won't remove the "penalty" on our account due to the bank marking it as a fraudulent payment to allow me to use MY bank account. They refuse to work with us, have made mistakes on their end, but don't allow any mistakes from the bank witho... read more

Monopoly at its finest. Paid in full, to get power into the development, since December 2024, with repeated promises of completion—most recently in July “I got with Management and should be done next couple of weeks”—yet still unfinished. Alex P. noted the situation is largely out of his hands after approval. It's now been 190 days + 10 . We've begun construction using generators. On a positive note, we've only paid the down payment for the $9,000 transformer as required in June. UPDATE: After a prolonged delay of 235 d... read more

I normally don’t leave reviews, but this situation has been incredibly frustrating. The crew that installed fiber in my area bored directly through the top of my sewer line, and I’ve now been without a working sewer for three weeks and had to pay out of pocket to get resolved due to lack of any accountability or response from butler rural electric or the subcontractors. I was told this work was done by a third-party contractor the company hired, and that contractor is the one giving me the biggest runaround. However, there ... read more

Predatory billing practices. ⚡ They have a "Demand Charge" Disaster : They take your highest hourly usage (even if it’s just one spike—like running your AC on a hot day, or a short in your well water pump that spiked your usage), multiply that hours usage by 136x your rate, and then slap that number onto your bill every month for the next 12 months. This is not based on actual usage. Not a one-time fee. Just a recurring penalty for using electricity... they label it as "demand charge" on your bill. Even though it is not fro... read more
