Dr. Busbee did my lumbar puncture while I was in the hospital. I know he has been there for a very long day. He didn't hurt me. He was kind. He was considerate. And he had a great sense of humor, which definitely eased my nerves.
I have many co-morbidities, and was able to give a brief run-down. Dr Busbee gave me his full attention, listened, and came up with a game-plan other doctors have not tried. He was very professional, insightful, and truly seemed to care about my well-being. The med student with him also asked great questions. I am glad I made the appointment to get local care with Dr Busbee.
I went for my physical in September and to get medicine refills because I would be traveling for several months six days a week. When my 90 day meds were about to run out, the pharmacy called the office several times and today I called. I was told I would have to come in for an office visit to get blood pressure meds refills. This is not an option for me. Now I am out of meds especially when I had explained to Dr Busbee that I would be traveling. Will be searching for new doctor. Also they no longer let you know what the blo... read more
My family had a horrible experience with Dr. Busbee yesterday. My grandpa was brought to the ER after sustaining a significant brain bleed, and Dr. Busbee told my mom, who has recognized that this would be the beginning of the end for her father, “I am only working until 7pm tonight, so another doctor may have to pronounce him.” He said this to my mother and in front of my grandfather. This is abhorrent and insensitive - a doctor should never speak like this in front of a patient/their family.
I was recommended to Dr. Busbee by a friend when I moved here 3 years ago. After evaluating me he and his friendly staff accepted me without judgement. I usually see the nurse practitioner Lisa Jenkins for all my needs and she is very knowledgeable. Dr. Busbee is always busy and also has several other doctors and nurses on staff most days. His office is busy, but they have a lot of patients they see in a timely manner. I never have to wait long to be seen and he is always there and friendly.
I would like to tell you what happened to me and my family on the day my mama pasted away. We were at the mercy of this GOD forbid of a doctor. The night that she took the turn for worse in ICU the nurses call Dr. Busbee to come and check on her. At my mama's death bed and I am crying and mourning my mama he decides to tell me that he will get the ER doctor to pronounce her dead. My reply to him was - YOU mean YOU don't want to do this? How in-humane is this so called doctor. Never forget it
Business response:
I am sorry for the loss of this reviewer's mother, who died after a prolonged hospital stay where I was actively involved with her care throughout. In fact, I actually did stay and pronounce this patient deceased that night. This was at around 9:00 pm after I had worked 14 hours that day, and after I had been continuously present at the bedside or in the ICU with the patient for 2 straight hours. In a rural hospital setting it is commonplace to let ER doctors pronounce DNR patients after hours.
