I feel it's necessary to explain as I'm frustrated and now seeking a new lawyer. Barbara seemed great at first and concerned at first...I gave 1500 to start. NOTHING literally has been done for me. We started going through my details income and child support and selling of my house, etc etc oh excuses the whole way it's coming onto a year Went weeks at a time with no answers and never there NO court date I'm better off representing myself I guess Got NOWHERE Nothing has been done though it seemed at 1st Oh Im working on it..... read more
I gave Barbara the benefit of the doubt, yet sadly I too had a horrible experience. If you have to challenge the status quo, or the opposing parties lies, then strap up and get ready to deal with insanity. Lazy lawyers too unwilling to challenge anything but happy to take your money until it gets time to file in court and actually work. Perhaps transgressing the law is the only avenue for those that are less than rich who are taken advantage of by people like this. Burton was my ex's lawyer briefly. She called me and told me that I had to sign a document stating that I would do all the driving when the court order stated that we were to share in the driving. I laughed in her face (over the phone) and hung up. She then provided my ex a document stating that my ex could withhold the kids from me. The cops laughed in that document's face when I showed them the court order and promptly instructed my ex to follow the court order by handing over the kids. Unprofessional lawyer.
Barb is a wonderful lawyer. I find some of these other reviews odd as I have never had an issue with papers being filed or anything else. Barb has also taken the time to help me with other issues, in which I won, that were not related to my family court case. I highly recommend her as a lawyer
This lawyer is a fraud. I will be suing her accordingly. She voluntarily surrendered her license in BC apparently because of issues with how she practiced so she came to Sudbury to make a "new" name for herself. I paid her $1500 for a family matter about 5 months or so ago. She has only filed a notice of change. She did a 360 after she was paid and claimed that she could not proceed. Instead of sending me my $1500 back she's sent $800. This is theft hence why I am taking her to court. Do not hire this person.
