They are in it for the money!! I requested a doctor's note and was told that he would provide one for a fee of $75.00, but that I must first come in for an office visit since he hadn't seen me in three months!!! The staff is kind and courteous and Dr. Burson is one-of-a-kind, but his care is expensive and they don't bother to alert you prior to performing diagnostics and procedures that will likely incur significant out-of-pocket costs!!! I had a great experience with Dr Burson and highly recommend him. I had visited an Urgent Care a week before and they did a less than thorough cleaning of wax in my ears. I could not hear out of my right ear and had tinnitus. Dr Burson cleaned it properly and was kind and put me at ease. He is an excellent listener and skilled MD. I also had a hearing test with Erika, the audiologist and it was properly done and she is professional and personable. All in all, it was one of the best office visits I have ever had.
I have canceled any upcoming appointments due with this provider due to the fact that he doesn't actually try to diagnose patients, he just makes assumptions. This is due to notes he added to my chart after seeing me in the hospital where he was called to consult & he concluded that my condition was "stress/anxiety related", instead of actually trying to find a medical cause. I was referred to See an ENT . After describing my symptoms and concerns, Dr.burson questioned if I am hearing things and told me there is nothing wrong with me. before sending me on my way, Dr. burson proceeds to tell me about a disorder with the same exact symptoms, that I described and tells me I don't have the aforementioned symptoms. therefore I don't have any issues.
