I called around to find the best deal on having my screens replaced. Burke Bros was the best price so I drove all the way over there and they the price quote changed from 18 to 25 dollars --- even when the man admitted he had quoted the lower price when I called, just an hour earlier. And boy was he was rude. The lady that gave me the price over the phone insisted that she had given me another price (not wanting to admit a mistake on their part). Awesome Place!!!!! – I recently moved here and happened to pass by this store. They have everything! I didn't need to go anywhere else because they had everything I was looking for! The guys there are so friendly and helpful. They can help you with anything! I'm so glad I found this place I will go there forever! I felt like I was going back in time where the people there actually care about you and the store had such an old-timey feel. It was fun!
A Great Raleigh Institution – These guys offer small town costumer service, but have the expertise and knowledge of the industry to meet any need. I don't shop anywhere else.
great hard ware store Looks like a small store located in Hillsborough st. but they have every hard ware item you want. even if they dont have they get it for you very quickly. friendly people. they can suggest you if you dont know what to buy. I went several times specially for my lab stuff
Back to the good old days Remember the days of the helpful hardware guy? You popped in for that one washer, screw, just had a question, hung out and chatted with the guy behind the counter. This is the hardware store of your grandpa! Great service! They'll get it if they don't have it. Reasonable for a small hardware store and better having to schlep your way through one of the big chain stores.
The "Convenience" Hardware Store – We have relied on Burke Brothers Hardware for over 10 years. In the age of home improvement warehouses, "Burke Brothers" holds its own by offering superior service, competitive prices and the quickest in-and-out of them all. Wonderful neighborhood resource. – I have found the staff at Burke Brothers to be extremely knowledgeable - something one cannot count on at the big-box stores. While they are more expensive (because they can't match the big-box's economies of scale) I gladly trade that for knowledge of their stock and of its various uses. And, often they have those arcane specialty items that big-boxes won't deign to stock (because they won't sell enough of them). Great Service! – It is refreshing to go to a hardware store and find people who actually know what they are talking about! The employees here will take the time to help you find items in the store and answer any questions you may have (even jotting down notes for you to take home!). The service is always fast and friendly. They even have free popcorn on Wednesdays and Saturdays, which makes it a perfect afternoon stop! Burke Brothers has everything you need!
Old-timey hardware store with everything! Walking into this store is like walking into the past. People care, wanting to help, and they have one of everything! If you need it they have it. They also have a few things you might not have known you need. Overall this is the only real hardware store left in this area (excluding the mega-chains).
