It is my privilege to write this letter in strong praise of Dr. Burk Young as thanks for the replacement of my right hip and left knee. Dr. Young is a highly skilled surgeon who has a very high level of technical proficiency. Beyond his technical expertise, Dr. Young possesses strong interpersonal skills and made sure that I was made aware of very step of the surgical and recovery procedures. Dr. Young is such a wonderful man. He listens during exams. He wants the best for me, my pain, my condition. Twice he has operated on me: both "torn rotator cuff" shoulders now claim his handiwork!!! And he is quite careful and precise while working with my Occupational Therapist to make sure I heal and recover properly! Dr. Young's respect for his patients is mirrored by those on his team. They all treat me with the utmost respect. I recommend him without reservation.
My 8 year old son broke his leg skiing. I am so grateful to Dr. Young for taking such great care of him. He not only answered my many questions but also included my son in the conversations about his care. Most importantly, he encouraged him not to give up on skiing after he is healed from his injury. I appreciated Dr. Young taking care of my son as a whole person, not just a leg to be fixed. Thank you, Dr. Young.
Dr. Young is a very thorough and highly skilled orthopedic surgeon with a wonderful staff. He explains things in easy to understand terms and, when possible, offers options for treatment. He listens to his patients and helps them decide what course of action to take. He takes the time needed to get to know his patients and make them confident and comfortable with their decisions.
